City officials endorse Refinery

YANKTON, S.D. (AP) - The Yankton Area Chamber of Commerce has come out in favor of a proposed crude-oil refinery in Union County.

Chamber officials cite the potential economic spin-off for the region.

Hyperion Energy hopes to locate the $10 billion refinery near Elk Point.

Zoning changes approved in March by the Union County Commission will be voted on by county residents on June 3.

The Yankton City Commission also has endorsed the proposed refinery.
